Mass Transit Series

Mass Transit Displays

Passenger information displays built for rolling stock and stations — above-door route maps, door-side screens, V-shaped ceiling displays, network diagram terminals and driver’s cab monitors. Designed for continuous duty in sealed, vibrating, temperature-cycled environments.

In-carriage displays

Stretched-bar terminals for the space above doors and along carriage ceilings, where the display has to be read at a glance from standing height.

New — Mini LED local dimming

36.6″ zone-dimmed stretched terminal

Transit interfaces run on dark backgrounds almost all the time. A conventional edge-lit panel keeps the whole backlight on regardless, which lifts black levels and wastes power as heat inside a sealed enclosure. This terminal maps image content onto a Mini LED backlight and lights only the zones that need it — deeper blacks behind station names and alerts, and measurably less power drawn in exactly the scenes transit UIs spend their time in.
